Mission

We are dedicated to serving and protecting the needs and interests of its members and their families through the collective bargaining process, legislative action and extensive training and skills improvement programs.

Vision

Our vision is for our membership to continue to be the leaders in its industry across NL. They bring to the table hard working men and women that are well trained with unique skills to improve any workforce they enter.

The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 904 is an organization that boasts a proud work history, representing a membership of approximately 2,000 active members in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and across the country. The IUOE Local 904 offers highly-trained and multi-skilled people within its trades and occupations. Our members exercise safe and productive work practices while utilizing their skills to perform the highest quality of work. We excel in the operation of heavy equipment, hoisting, truck driving, diving, boating, maintenance and repair for all types of construction work as well as Operating Engineers clerical work.

IUOE Local 904 has been supplying and training members for over 50 years. Our members have been a part of many of Newfoundland’s key projects to date including Hibernia, Terra Nova, Voisey’s Bay mine development, Long Harbour nickel processing plant, Muskrat Falls LCP and Hebron.
